About Us

Our mission is to connect kids to the great outdoors in meaningful, lasting and life changing ways. We achieve this mission by partnering with local non-profits and schools who are serving children of low economic status and do not have the resources to provide outdoor experiences. We provide field trip coordination, transportation, meals, and supplies for each trip. Our staff are professional naturalists and environmental educators who engage children in the outdoors and inspire a love of nature. We take kids to state parks, natural areas, and private farms within an hour drive where they can escape from their electronics and the stresses of city life, and immerse their senses in the wonders of nature.

Memphis Kids in Nature provides day trips and overnight camping experiences for inner-city children giving them opportunities to play and have fun while learning and exploring nature. Day trips take kids on nature walks, birding, stream strolling, or fishing where they can explore forests, fields, lakes and streams. Overnight camping experiences give kids the thrill of sleeping in a tent, star gazing and roasting hot dogs over a campfire. Our goal is to help kids develop a connection with and an understanding of the natural world that will last far into the future.
